Meet the Team
Behind every delivery, every conversation with a farmer, every bale of hay, and every kilometre travelled, there’s a dedicated team working tirelessly to support Australian farmers in need.
RCA’s team is growing rapidly, with new members to be announced soon. From truck drivers and logistics coordinators to fodder specialists, recovery officers, administration support, partnership coordinators, and community supporters, each person plays a vital role in making RCA’s work possible.
Our team is made up of committed individuals who believe in lending a hand to those doing it tough. Whether it’s coordinating Recovery Connect Events, ensuring on-ground safety and operations, planning routes, or driving thousands of kilometres, we’re united by one goal, helping farmers and their communities recover and thrive.

SALLY POWER
FOUNDER | DIRECTOR
Sally Power has been a driving force in disaster recovery since the devastating 2022 Northern Rivers floods. What began with a grassroots initiative, Feed for Friends, sparked her deep commitment to stand beside farmers in times of crisis.
During this grassroots period, Sally coordinated 1,200 hay runs, worked alongside multiple charity hay runners, and helped deliver fodder and recovery referrals to more than 1,500 primary producers and rural landholders. She also held one-on-one conversations with over 850 farmers, ensuring they were heard, supported, and connected with the right services.
In response to the 2022 floods, after 10 months of grassroots dedication through Feed for Friends, Sally was contracted by the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) as a Recovery Support Officer. This role complemented her more than 30 years of diverse experience in logistics, problem-solving, and community engagement, building on her ability to provide tailored assistance to primary producers, navigating referral pathways and grant support, and facilitating partnerships with government and non-government organisations.
These experiences deepened her commitment, and today Sally is fully invested in supporting farmers for the long term a commitment that ultimately led to the creation of Rural Connect Ag.
Sally is known for her ability to listen, connect, and act, building trust through genuine relationships and attention to detail. Her leadership and determination have been central to shaping Rural Connect Ag into an initiative dedicated to providing early response, practical fodder relief, and stronger connections for disaster-impacted farmers.
Grounded in her Clarence Valley community, Sally continues to drive impactful solutions that link farmers to essential services, foster stronger networks, and strengthen rural communities for the future.

ROCKY
TRANSPORTATION & FODDER CONTROL
Rocky brings over 25 years in transport and 17 years as a hay grower and contractor to his role at Rural Connect Ag. Growing up on a mixed farm, he built a strong connection to rural life and expanded a single truck into an established transport fleet built on reliability and hard work.
Hay has become central to his life. Across 3,000 acres, Rocky has refined the craft of growing and baling quality hay, knowing that timing is everything. His expertise ensures fodder is cut and baled at the right stage, preserving nutrition and directly supporting livestock health. Farmers trust his skill because the hay he produces makes a real difference.
Since 2007, Rocky has also been part of the hay running movement, donating trucks, fodder, and time to support disaster-impacted farmers across QLD and NSW. That same loyalty continues today with RCA, where he draws on decades of logistics expertise to deliver fodder efficiently into disaster-affected regions.
Rocky personally inspects hay from growers, with RCA instigating feed testing and analysis to guarantee farmers receive fodder that provides genuine nutritional benefit.
More than a transport leader, Rocky is a strategic thinker and multi-skilled operator who contributes ideas that shape RCA’s future. For him, it has never been just about delivering hay, it’s about doing the job right and supporting farmers when they need it most.
Behind every truckload delivered through RCA, Rocky’s standards and oversight are at work.

GEOFF JONES
SPOKESPERSON | AMBASSADOR
Geoff has been part of the agricultural industry since the day he was born. A fourth-generation farmer from the Clarence Valley, he grew up immersed in farming life, riding beside his grandfather, learning the land, the stock, and the stories that shaped his path.
When the cattle industry collapsed just as he left school, Geoff turned to a trade as a diesel mechanic, but his love for farming never left. Those skills proved invaluable, and by the mid-1990s he was managing 700 breeders under contract to Woolworths, giving him insight into the full supply chain from paddock to plate.
Later, he chaired Big River Beef, worked with like-minded producers, and took over Holiday Coast Meats in Grafton, building strong trading relationships and a deep understanding of quality meat and strong trading relationships.
Alongside his own farming, Geoff has served as a councillor for Ulmarra Shire, and today continues his leadership as Deputy Chair with NSW Farmers, while also serving his community as an RFS brigade captain.
Over the years, Geoff has also served his community as an RFS brigade captain and has been actively involved in countless grassroots initiatives. He understands the unique challenges farmers face because he has lived them: droughts, floods, disasters, and the personal hardships that follow.
“You can’t solve a problem unless you understand what the problem is.”
The quiet discussions on the back of the ute, kicking a stone around with the toe of your boot, are where honesty comes out.
“Sharing the load can halve the load.”
Today, as spokesperson and ambassador for Rural Connect Ag (RCA), Geoff brings not only his voice but also his lived experience. He knows firsthand the weight of disaster and the resilience it takes to recover. His ability to connect with farmers comes from being one himself, independent by nature, yet willing to acknowledge that strength often comes from leaning on others.
For Geoff, RCA is more than an initiative; it’s a vehicle to strengthen relationships within rural communities, create genuine connections, and ensure farmers know they are supported through every challenge. His depth of experience, combined with his grounded, practical wisdom, makes him a powerful advocate for farmers and a trusted face of RCA.

Our Truck Drivers
We have a dedicated and committed team of truck drivers responsible for transporting donated hay to regions declared as natural disaster areas. But they do much more than just drive. Behind the scenes, their efforts are vital to ensuring every hay run is a success.
Our truck drivers load and unload donated fodder, travelling into disaster-impacted regions where support is needed most. Along the way, they stop at key meeting points, engage with local communities, and provide updates on the journey. When they arrive at their final destination, they do more than deliver hay, they take the time to connect with farmers, listen to their stories, and offer a much-needed chat and sense of support. They are more than truck drivers; they are the heart of Rural Connect Ag.
Over the years, we’ve seen firsthand that many of our drivers are among the first responders to impacted farmers. Whether delivering hay or simply sharing a conversation, their presence can make a real difference.

Volunteers
At Rural Connect Ag, our volunteers are not just everyday people, they are Local Champions. Farmers, community members, and people of the land who step up when they are needed most. They bring with them lived experience, a deep dedication to agriculture, and an unshakable commitment to their communities.
It takes a certain kind of person to put their own needs aside, roll up their sleeves, and do whatever it takes to support others in times of hardship. These Local Champions embody the true spirit of rural Australia: resilient, resourceful, and always ready to lend a hand. They remind us that recovery is not just about hay and supplies, it’s about people standing together in strength and solidarity.
From our on-ground coordinators, to the farmers who help load and unload trucks, to the Rotary Clubs and community organisations who stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us, we cannot thank you enough for all that you do. Your commitment and dedication are unwavering, and your impact is felt in every kilometre travelled, every bale delivered, and every farmer supported.
